There are some great writers describing their practices of choosing words and setting intention for the year ahead. And I love this. Intentionality, consciously making choices about how we are going to take action, manifestation…these are some powerful life-creating tools at our disposal.
And one thing that coaching has taught me is that I have the freedom to use whatever kooky and tilted means necessary to describe and experience what is happening now. It sounds like the perspective you are in right now is Angry Bird, what if you tried onWhat’s New Pussy Cat instead? As multimedia, feature-rich people, we have the awesome ability to hook into all of the caves of knowledge and memory and experience and use them to learn from or to kick our asses forward.
So, I challenged myself to, not only choose my intention for 2011, but described it in the most visceral, tactile, resonant way possible (but probably without swears). On the last day of 2010, my end-of-year check-in wrapped with the question: What are your wildest dreams for 2011?
Bing!
2011: The Year of The Wild Things.
The Wild Things because hunting the wild things means a backpack full of chocolate and wine.
The Wild Things because they take up a whole lotta of space.
The Wild Things because of inspiration and child-like wonder.
The Wild Things because of the grief that I have for carrying too long the cross of the “good enough” life.
The Wild Things because you run after them.
The Wild Things because it comes with a freaking readymade soundtrack.
The Wild Things because of adventure.
Yum. What is your intention for 2010? How about we freak it up a bit?
P.S. I believe The Year of the Caribbean Pirate is still open.
