photo block - my sweet fuzzy neighbour cat
I have been under the weather for the past couple of days, staying at home and keeping my germies to myself. To my surprise, the Grinchmas celebrations have not ceased over this time, and I have channeled my version of Martha Stewart under house arrest.
Celebrating Grinchmas over these days has been about noticing the pleasure in the simple things:
- The smell of cedar as while sanding photo blocks.
- Setting the alarm to get 30 minutes of morning reading in bed.
- Nuzzling up to the fireplace with shortbread cookies.
- Letting my mind dance through memories of holidays past.
- Vying for the attention of my heating blanket against two black cats.
- Finishing and starting and continuing paintings.
Sick or not, celebration and participation in feel-good activities was definitely present. It’s beginning to look a lot like Grinchmas!

a bed-reading alarm. what! this is a fabulous idea!!!!
yesterday the fam and i stopped by our favorite cafe, Haven (aka mommy’s happy place) and got a couple’a lattes and a complimentary cookie–shortbread with sage. it was….it was…sophisticated, buttery YUM!
i’ve been checking in on the Grinchmasy times here. just so you know. i’m out here!
somewhere on here (or FB?) i saw your recommendation of Linchpin. snagged that on CD for jesse. well, for both of us really, but i can say it’s for him and still get to gift myself! hee!
there’s a *RIDICULOUS* amount of crafting going on here. family-wide. and i’m finally going to do what i should have done over a year ago–start and Etsy store. stay tuned. even if it only has 5 items, i’m starting that bad-boy up this winter.
